Boreholes for rural Burkina Faso

Repeated droughts in Burkina Faso have made water both scarce and contested — fuelling conflicts between herders and farmers, and falling especially heavily on women and children. The first 25 boreholes are complete; a further 50 are now planned. Each well includes a community management committee, a maintenance fund built from a symbolic per-jerrycan fee, and basic spare-parts inventory.

Donate once. Fund forever.

A €50 donation funds a year of water for a family — and, thanks to the model, contributes to the next well too.
