Grant-making policy

We fund projects that meet five criteria: (1) clear sustainable-impact mechanism (the project pays for its own maintenance within 24 months); (2) local management committee in place before construction starts; (3) replication plan; (4) maximum project size of €30,000 — we prefer many small projects to few big ones; (5) public ledger of every euro spent. We do not fund: cash transfers, salaries, advocacy, lobbying, projects without a sustainability mechanism.
